Okay, What car shape is most aerodynamic and how fast do pinewood derby cars go?

- smooth, small and low to the ground. get a basic rectangle give it a wave like body with 1 hump and a half. and smooth it out. ( the half hump goes in the back. )
- I actually won the pinewood derby when I was 8 in the cub scouts. No illegal weights, the embarrassment will destroy your boy. The key is low friction wheels. All derby cars weigh the same, the track is too small for aerodynamics to be a factor...it is in the wheels...no friction...no wobbling...email me if you want to. I don't want to cough up all my PW Derby secrets.
- We've seen square blocks beat aerodynamic shapes. The wheels are the most important. Work on the wheels. Make the nails (axles) positively smooth. Remove the burrs off of the axles and use liberal amounts of graphite and spend hours working it into the hubs. If everything else falls within the guidelines....it's all in the wheels....
