where can I find lead tape?
I'm trying to find lead tape for my kids pinewood derby cars. Tried Home Depot, no dice. If tungsten tape exists that would be great too but I'm not looking to spend much $. Thanks.

- It would probably get expensive, I don't know how much you need. You can get it at golf shops. Lead tape is used to weigh clubs to change the ball flight off of the head. Look on Golfsmith.com or TGW.com. I am pretty sure you can find it on the Golfsmith site. In AZ I purchased some at Vans Pro Shop.
- Well, first I'll tell you I'm not sure where to find lead tape. I would look at all sorts of hobby shops, then at somewhere like Lowe's. If I couldn't find it there, I can think of another option. This would take a little more work, but could be cheaper. I'd get a lead fishing weight and either drill a hole and stick the weight in, or hollow the car out a bit and then melt the lead weights and pour it into the car. You can melt it quite easily with a blow torch in an old cast iron pot or something.
- look in the Yellowpages for a stained glass store. Also if you work with lead, it is not a smart thing to melt the lead in your kitchen.....lead vapor is not healthy to breath!
